Dan was born and raised in Bellevue, Nebraska, getting a B.S in Theatre from Nebraska Wesleyan University. He married Kelly Gorder in 1982 and attended Westminster Choir College in Princeton New Jersey. He sang with WCC choirs and symphonies in many great auditoriums on the east coast, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Dan started his ministry career at First Presbyterian Church in Boulder, CO, Kelly's home church. He moved to WA in 1990 to be Pastor of Worship at Kent Covenant Church. In over 40 years in ministry, he has conducted choirs of all ages, including bell choirs and instrumental ensembles. He plays the piano, guitar, cello and organ. He has three daughters, two living in Seattle and one in Helena, Mt. He loves reading, puzzles, sports, trivia, gardening, DIY projects, traveling, camping, leading worship and hearing how people's life stories intersect with their faith.
